Nic Cage’s days as a movie star seem like a lifetime ago, and his latest movie is only further proof.

The trailer for Cage’s upcoming movie “Vengeance: A Love Story,” is so bad I actually feel bad for him.

According to the Netflix description, the plot of the film is, “On the Fourth of July, single mother Teena is brutally assaulted by a local gang in front of her 12-year-old daughter Bethie. Even though Bethie is able to identify the attackers, the defense hires a local hot-shot defense attorney who manipulates the law to their advantage. When the criminals are set free, Gulf War veteran and detective John Dromoor (Nicolas Cage) is dismayed by the lack of justice and plots revenge against the men on Teena’s behalf.”

Nic, what have you gone off and gotten yourself involved in this time? You went from starring in movies like “National Treasure,” “Con Air” and “The Rock,” to this.

Now he’s starring in movies that appear to have a lower production value than something I could have shot in my backyard. I guess losing all your money puts people in a situation to take bad jobs. However, these garbage movies aren’t helping him get back to where he needs to be. Maybe we just have to accept the fact the days of Nic Cage as an awesome movie star are gone and they’re never coming back.
