Bill Cosby has decided on a new lawyer to join his defense team for his sexual assault case.

On Monday, the disgraced comedian announced that he hired Thomas Mesereau, who represented Michael Jackson when he faced charges of molestation. The late pop singer’s lawyer will now lead Cosby’s defense at his retrial as he faces charges of indecent assault, according to Page Six.

Mesereau will be the third attorney to take point on the 80-year-old comedian’s sexual assault case. Cosby is facing allegations from dozens of women who accused him of drugging and sexually abusing them over the years. Cosby’s first trial resulted in a mistrial after the jury couldn’t come to a consensus on any of the three charges against Cosby. Since then his two previous lawyers, Brian McMonagle and Angela Agrusa, filed to withdraw from his case.

Now Cosby has new hope with his new defense team. Mesereau is best known for getting Jackson acquitted of all 14 charges related to molestation, but he also represented other celebrities like boxer Mike Tyson and actor Robert Blake.

The judge is expected to release both McMonagle and Agrusa from Cosby’s case on Tuesday, according to Page Six. Cosby’s retrial is set to start on November 6.
