Police arrested a suspected car thief after the solar eclipse distracted him in Kissimmee, Fla. Monday.

Orange County police officers arrested Jocsan Feliciano Rosado, 22-year-old man, as he viewed the solar eclipse from a parking lot next to a stolen car, reported Fox 5 Monday.

Rosado allegedly stole the car and led the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on a chase before parking in a Harbor Freight tool store parking lot.

Rosado was wearing a welder’s mask with blue flames when officers surprised the grand theft astronomy enthusiast thief standing outside the parked stolen car. Police claim Rosado brought the mask in order to safely view the eclipse, and he was thoroughly distracted when they made their arrest, reported News 6.
