Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post said Wednesday that people should start hoping special counsel Robert Mueller is able to find something “actionable” against President Donald Trump.

“We have to be at the point where people start looking for an exit ramp and people start hoping that Mueller hurries up this investigation, and wishing, maybe with fingers, crossed that he finds something that’s actionable because this is not going to get better. This is who this guy is,” Robinson said on a “Morning Joe” panel.

Robinson also said that a New York Times piece detailing the feud between Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has made McConnell someone that Mueller has to interview.

“I think months from now, years from now when we look back at last night we might focus more on that NYT story about those interactions between Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell because what the sources for that story did, and I think probably knowingly, is make Mitch McConnell someone that Robert Mueller has to interview in a possible obstruction of justice case against the president,” Robinson said.
