Tim Young pointed out Tuesday on “No Things Considered” that the people who vandalized a Christopher Columbus monument in Baltimore, Md., never realized during the ordeal they wouldn’t be in the country without the explorer.

“You gotta love it because people do not realize that they would absolutely not be here without Christopher Columbus,” added Young.

“This monument is one of the oldest in the country,” said Tim Young from No Things Considered Tuesday. However, part of the 225-year-old statue with the description reading, “Sacred to the Memory of Chris. Columbus Oct. XII MDCC VIIIC,” was smashed by a rock, reported Baltimore Brew Wednesday.

The vandals left posters reading “racism tear it down” and “the future is racial and economic justice” to further voice their sentiments.

“They would not be here to vandalize that monument if it was not for Christopher Columbus,” Young pointed said, pointing out the irony of the whole situation.

Essentially, without Columbus discovering America, the vandals, “would have no freedom 0f speech” to destruct property and might be still living under the authority of a “king or queen.”
