Big beer companies like Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors are halting beer production in some of their factories to work for the greater good.

Both companies announced they’re donating canned water to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Anheuser-Busch has donated over 155,000 and MillerCoors has given 50,000.

The Anheuser-Busch factory in Cartersville, Georgia, halted its beer production completely in order to serve relief efforts. The company claims it has given over 76 million cans of water since 1998, helping victims of natural disasters and emergencies across the country.

They’re not even taking full credit. The Red Cross and other community organizations are making their relief efforts possible, Anheuser-Busch’s VP of Community Affairs Bill Bradley said.

This is what America is all about. After disasters like Hurricane Matthew, the Flint water crisis, California droughts, and others, big companies have set the standard for relief efforts.

Seeing big companies work in partnership with local organizations for the good of the whole community really makes you forget about the political infighting that goes on in our country.

And seeing that iconic Anheuser-Busch trademark on a can makes you want even prouder to be born in the US-of-A. That can is a worldwide symbol for freedom, free market enterprise, and hard work. It’s the beacon of hope after a hurricane and after a long day’s work.

Let’s all do our part. Let’s save water and support our great beer companies by popping a cold one and saluting our heroic companies and our brave fellow Americans in Texas.
