There is a relatively new documentary out, titled “A Billion Lives.” The trailer can be found below. This compelling documentary will change the way you think about the vaping industry and call into question many of your assumptions.

A Billion Lives” deals with the vaping industry and the obstacles that are so clearly in its way. On their YouTube page, the filmmakers indicate that “A Billion Lives” shows how pharmaceutical companies, anti-smoking advocacy groups, tobacco companies, and even our own state and federal governments are to blame for the disinformation, over-regulation, and banning of e-cigarettes worldwide.” This documentary is something every smoker, vaper, and concerned citizen should watch. It provides an insight into the minds about those who have preconceived notions about vaping and who refuse to recognize its harm-reducing qualities.

The trailer for “A Billion Lives” starts off by saying, “The United Nations World Health Organization projects that a billion people will die this century from smoking. In the next 20 years, there will be half a billion new smokers around the world.” Wouldn’t it be great if there was an extremely healthier way for smokers to get nicotine? Well there is, and it is being attacked from many angles. It is called vaping.

According to a study conducted by the documentarians, nearly 70 percent of smokers want to quit but see very few options on how to do so.

Thirteen years ago a Chinese scientist named Hon Lik, himself a heavy smoker, invented vaping technology. It was recognized instantly as affordable, safe and most importantly effective in helping smokers quit. The act of vaping is very similar to that of smoking, so naturally many countries looked to regulate vaping, if not outright ban it. Just think about it: A technology that can save a billion lives is being kept from the hands of those who need it most.

Throughout the documentary the director and narrator, Aaron Biebert, travels four continents, visits with scientists, experts and doctors, and interviews them on the specifics of the vaping industry and who/what is in its way. The filmmakers dive deep into the government regulators who benefit from cigarette sales, and the pharmaceutical industry who may or may not be helping this cause.

What they find out will shock you.
