Of all the problems facing people whose lives have been turned upside-down by Hurricane Harvey, you would think an abortion would rank pretty low. That didn’t stop the Lilith Fund of Texas from creating an emergency fund so that victims can still terminate an unwanted pregnancy.
“With increased barriers like temporary clinic closures, displacement, loss of homes/vehicles, and more, access to abortion just got even more difficult for those affected by Harvey,” the nonprofit group wrote on its Facebook page.
Abortion organizations and activists rallied to the fundraising cause.

It was difficult to get an abortion in Texas. #Harvey has made it nearly impossible. Please donate to the @lilithfund & @NatAbortionFed.

Not everyone thought abortions were a priority in the middle of the recovery effort.
The Lilith Fund is very appropriately named for a demon who steals away babies in the night pic.twitter.com/qs96tpQ9mX

This is a great investment if you think the biggest problem with Harvey is that it didn’t kill enough people. https://t.co/ZtbRkzCn0U
