We have reviewed iJoy’s PD270 series, the Captain PD270 and the Genie PD270. iJoy’s latest mod, the Captain PD1865, comes as a kit with a Captain sub-ohm tank. It can be considered a starter kit. This mod has a 0.96″ OLED display screen and is powered by two 18650 batteries. The maximum output potential is 225 watts. Although its size is compact, tanks up to 30mm in diameter will fit atop it with little to no overhang. The Captain tank that is included with the kit is a 25mm atomizer with a 4ml liquid capacity.
The video reviewer compares the PD1865 to iJoy’s PD270 mod: “The Captain PD1865 is a good amount smaller than the PD270. It really boils down to which size you would prefer for a box mod. They both fit 30mm RDAs with the PD270 fitting them a little bit better with zero overhang.” Overall, as far as vaping quality, he recommends getting a different tank for this mod because he is not getting the flavor he expects. But, he likes the PD1865 better than the PD270. As far as beginner and starter kits go, this kit is not a bad option.
