Jon Hamm is a pretty tall guy, so he knows when somebody else is trying to pull the “tall-dude thing.”

In an interview with The New York Times published Thursday, Hamm discussed the first time he met Donald Trump. The “Mad Men” star ran into the then presidential candidate at a Saturday Night Live party in Midtown Manhattan where he claimed Trump tried to intimidate him.

“He was with Bill O’Reilly,” Hamm explained. “They’re both tall dudes. And I’m a tall dude. And they both do that tall-dude thing, which is try to intimidate you. And it doesn’t work on me. I’m like, ‘I’m as alpha as you. Let’s go. You’re not going to chest-bump me.'”

The 46-year-old actor didn’t reveal what the three talked about, but he didn’t stick around long after their encounter.

“It was a very weird night,” Hamm added. “It was the shortest I’ve ever stayed at an ‘S.N.L.’ after-party.”
