Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci is whipping up a frenzy of attention these days with his possible media venture he’s calling The Scaramucci Post. Observers are inhaling it like glue as he polls the public on which Twitter account the new “pub” should follow next.

But presidential aspirations?

Nah. At least not according to him.

Still, that’s what BuzzFeed News is reporting tonight.

Scaramucci swatted the story down, calling it “fake news. ”

“Friends of Scaramucci are saying he wants to run for something,” reports BuzzFeed‘s Steven Perlberg and Adrian Carrasquillo.

But BuzzFeed isn’t totally coming out of left field with its report.

Back in August, a rep for Scaramucci looked into buying various Internet domains that would suggest presidential aspirations: Scaramucci2024.com, Scaramucci2028.com and Scaramucci2032.com. [RELATED: Scaramucci Inquiry Suggests Political Hopes]

BuzzFeed News’ story’s deck conveyed Scaramucci’s denial.

“’He was 100% serious about it and asked us if we thought he would be a good president,’ said a person familiar with the matter. (Reached for comment, Scaramucci denied that he would run for office.)”

And this: “Mooch’s brief time in the White House has also given him presidential aspirations, according to one person familiar with the matter.”

Scaramucci denied any presidential aspirations to BuzzFeed. He later blasted the site on Twitter, blasting it on twitter as “Fake News.”

“President of what? Don’t make stuff up,” The Mooch told BuzzFeed News over text. “Not running for anything. I am back at work.”

The story called him a “consummate schmoozer.”

Suffice it to say if Scaramucci ever did run for 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., every aspect of his life would be under a microscope — even more than it already is now.

The Mirror reached out to Scaramucci’s publicist Howard Bragman, who has insisted that I contact him for anything pertaining to The Mooch. I’m breathlessly awaiting his reply.
