Oklahoma star quarterback Baker Mayfield came out as a fan of Taylor Swift Monday.
Mayfield was asked about when Katy Perry famously told Sooners quarterback Trevor Knight to give her a call. Oklahoma’s season quickly collapsed after her comments, and it’s become a bit of a joke among college football fans.
The topic was brought up during the Monday press conference, and Mayfield didn’t hesitate before (jokingly) putting the blame on Perry for the collapse.

It got much better from there. Perry and Taylor Swift are embroiled in a very public feud, and the dual-threat quarterback came out on Team Swift.

I’ve been on the record multiple times as being both pro-Taylor Swift and not the biggest fan of Mayfield. However, as somebody on Team Swift, I think Mayfield might be growing on me. I can’t really hate a guy playing on Team Swift. It just wouldn’t feel right.
Besides, you have to respect the fact he was willing to throw Perry under the bus without a second of hesitation. That’s true leadership and quick decision making. I have to admit, I think Mayfield is slowly turning me into a fan.
