President Trump tweeted out support for the victims of a highly destructive earthquake in Mexico City Tuesday.

“God bless the people of Mexico City. We are with you and will be there for you,” Trump tweeted.

First lady Melania Trump also tweeted out her reaction to the quake.

“Thinking of those in #Mexico affected by today’s earthquake,” she tweeted.

The earthquake registered as a magnitude 7.1, and comes just 12 days after a magnitude 8.1 quake rocked the country. (RELATED: BREAKING: 7.1 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Mexico City)

Photos and videos from the scene of the earthquake are shocking,

Buildings collapsed as citizens were stuck in the street.

Highway bridges were destroyed.

The number of dead and injured is currently unknown, The New York Times reports. “Several” were injured when a building collapsed, and an “unknown number” remain trapped inside.

Of course, the Twitter blue check mark brigade immediately leapt into action to attack Trump for his solemn message.
