Sen. Bill Cassidy shot back at Jimmy Kimmel after the comedian accused Cassidy of lying to him about the health care debate.
Cassidy appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” during the GOP’s last attempt to repeal and replace Obamacare, and he promised Kimmel he would protect people with preexisting conditions. Kimmel is charging that the Graham-Cassidy bill doesn’t accomplish that goal, making Cassidy a liar.
“There’s a new Kimmel test–it’s a lie detector test,” Kimmel said on his show Tuesday night.
“I’m sorry he does not understand,” Cassidy told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Wednesday morning. “Under Graham-Cassidy and Heller-Johnson more people would have coverage and we protect those with preexisting conditions.”
“States like Maine, Virginia, Florida, Missouri–there will be billions more dollars to provide health insurance coverage for those in those states who have been passed by Obamacare and we provide protections for preexisting conditions,” Cassidy asserted.
