Amy Schumer told her 6.3 million followers on Instagram that the only “way out of this nightmare” that is Donald Trump’s presidency was to register to vote.
“The only way out of this nightmare! Repost. Tell your friends. We need all of us! Let’s go,” the 36-year-old comedian captioned her post Tuesday as she shared a photo promoting the day as “National Voter Registration Day.” (RELATED: TRAINWRECK–Tampa Crowd Eats Amy Schumer Alive For Going After Trump [VIDEO])
Schumer was a vocal advocate for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign and has spoken out against the president several times since he was elected. Most recently over the summer she agreed with Shaun King, who slammed Trump voters following the rollback of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
“Same. Sickening. We will keep fighting for you #dreamers,” the comedian and wrote in the caption next to a screen shot of King’s Facebook post.
“SHAME!!!! Trump just trotted Jeff Sessions out to announce they were going to end DACA,” King wrote. “This was one of the most cruel, inhumane orders I’ve seen in my entire life. Shame on every single American who voted for Trump and ushered in this cruel era of bigotry and white supremacy.”
