Former retired ESPN commentator Brent Musburger is not a fan of Tony Romo calling NFL games for CBS.

Musburger gave his thoughts on Romo Monday night on his gambling show “Vegas Stats & Information Network,” and his take is a bit surprising.

He stated the following:

Tony, get off it. Okay? First of all, you’re intruding on your play-by-play man Jim Nantz, who’s just trying to give us the scene. We like to watch the game, okay? And you’re not going to be…he’s a memo for all the guys who are like, ‘oh this is great.’ It’s not going to happen and the more years you spend away from the league, you’re going to know less and less about the personnel that’s out on the field. So I’m blowing a ‘stop the hype’, okay, right now.

I hate to say it, but this video makes me think Musburger might have lost his touch. Romo is pure electricity in the booth, and I love every moment of it.

He is like a prophet up there. He’s calling out plays before they even happen with an insane amount of accuracy. It’s a beautiful sight to behold. I’ve even started tuning into the CBS game he’s doing for a little bit every Sunday just to hear some of his expertise.

Musburger is wrong here. It’s that simple.
