Whoopi Goldberg got in trouble after referring to President Donald Trump as “the bum in chief” during her show on Monday and had to apologize.

“You know I am going to say something, you know, people were very upset that I called him the bum in chief yesterday,” the co-hosts of “The View” shared Tuesday. (RELATED: Joy Behar Cracks Bad Trump Joke On ‘The View’)

“Yes, they were very upset with me,” she added. “And so I, I will apologize.”

“Do you mean it?” Joy Behar asked her co-host.

“Yeah,” Goldberg answered. “Yeah, I do actually. So, I am just going to go back to saying the new guy.”

During the show on Monday, Goldberg called the president “the bum in chief” after he suggested NFL owners should fire players who refuse to stand for the national anthem.

“So over the weekend, the bum in chief decided he was going to make some noise at the NBA and then also at the NFL and then he sort of went crazy and was in Alabama saying wild stuff,” the co-host explained.

Later in the show, she explained the nickname came from comments made by NBA player Lebron James who tweeted that Trump was a “bum” in response the president uninviting NBA player Stephen Curry to the White House.

“U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain’t going! So therefore ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up,” James tweeted Saturday.
