Get excited, America. Now you can get drunk on this “GET IT GIRL” wine, get some, and then get it gone!
“GET IT GIRL Wine,” a new booze from Union Wine Co., promises to give all profits to Planned Parenthood for each batch of booze you buy. Consumption is not, however, recommended for women that are already pregnant.
Wildfang and Union Wine Co. worked together to craft the wine, with the goal of raising at least $100,000 dollars for Planned Parenthood. The duo announced their campaign to fund the abortion organization with its new wine — featuring hints of lime, melon and jasmine — on Instagram.
“We had the idea for the wine shortly after the 2016 election,” Wildfang CEO Emma Mcilroy said Tuesday, according to Delish magazine. “We wanted to make a clear statement in support of women’s rights and make some kind of positive impact. We also like to drink a lot of wine, so it felt like a match made in heaven.”
Retailers in California, Oregon, New York and New Jersey are selling the wine, and it’s also available on the Union Wine Co. website. Customers that buy the wine online get a 10 percent discount, but the full price of the purchase still goes to Planned Parenthood.
