According to a new poll by CNN, 68 percent of Americans hope to see either a complete overhaul or major changes to the U.S. tax system.

35 percent said the federal tax system needs a “complete overhaul” while 33 percent said it needs “major changes.” Support for major tax reform cuts across party lines, with 77 percent of Republicans, 70 percent of Independents, and 62 percent of Democrats agreeing that it’s time for change.

Those results could spell good news for the GOP as they shift their focus from repealing and replacing Obamacare to reforming the tax system.

That being said, Americans aren’t sure if President Trump’s tax reform efforts will help them or hurt them. About 4 in 10 say they expect taxes on the middle class to rise under Trump, while only 25 percent say taxes on the middle class will drop. Nearly half of Americans do believe taxes rates will fall for business and the wealthy.

Only 34 percent of Americans said that they support Trump’s work on taxes, although a quarter of respondents admitted they aren’t yet sure how they feel about Trump’s handling of the tax code.

The poll also asked Americans about their views on various immigration-related policies, including DACA and the border wall.
