MSNBC showed less than a third of Trump’s tax speech on Friday, instead cutting to talk about Ivanka Trump’s products being made overseas and to grill a member of the House Freedom Caucus.

The entire speech lasted about 30 minutes, but MSNBC showed just the first seven minutes.

As soon as President Trump first mentioned bringing manufacturing back to the United States, MSNBC felt the need to cut from the speech to tell their viewers that Ivanka Trump’s company has no plans to move their production to America.

Instead of returning to the speech after their fact check, cohosts Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle brought on Rep. Morgan Griffith of Virginia, who is a member of the House Freedom Caucus, to grill him on the presidents’ tax reform plan.

The anchors questioned Griffith on whether wealthy people would benefit under the plan, if the plan would drastically increase the deficit, and if it would really help the middle class as the president claimed, all while Trump addressed the same subject in his speech.

As Trump’s speech continued into the 12 PM hour, MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell continued to show as little of it as possible. While MSNBC showed one or two pre-recorded segments of the nearly hour-long speech after the initial 7 minutes of broadcasting, they never returned to it live.

Both CNN and Fox News showed the entirety of the speech.
