(MONDAY) Protesters Get Dragged From Healthcare Hearing: A massive crowd of protesters showed up to a Senate Committee on Finance hearing on the recent Republican proposal to repeal major portions of Obamacare. Protesters were so unruly that Utah GOP Sen. Orrin Hatch was forced to recess the hearing until all protesters were forcibly removed from the room.
(TUESDAY) Protesters Stage “Die-In” To Block Votes On Health Care Bill: A crowd of protesters showed up to stage an unexpected “die-in” inside of the U.S. Capitol, where the protesters covered themselves in white sheets and acted as if they were deceased. Other protesters chanted “Save our health care,” until Capital Police officers eventually arrested and removed them.
(WEDNESDAY) Hundreds Storm Capitol To Support ‘Head Start’ Education Program: Hundreds of families stormed the halls of Congress on Wednesday to urge lawmakers to provide more government grants for an existing education program geared towards low-income families. The families visited members of both the House and Senate at the Capitol. The two DCNF reporters visited the “Head-Start Families” and asked what they hoped to accomplish.
(THURSDAY) Pro-Choice Activists Refuse To Talk To Reporters: Pro-choice individuals were seen awaiting the arrival of Justice Neil Gorsuch outside of the hotel. Activists refused to tell TheDCNF reporters why they were mad or what they were actually protesting. A majority of the protesters refused to answer any questions about Gorsuch. The activists eventually put their hands on the camera and tried to aggressively block TheDCNF from getting footage of the protest.
(FRIDAY) An Imam Gets Confronted At A Jewish Protest: Jewish, Christian, and Muslim religious leaders joined together to protest on the steps of the Qatari embassy in Washington, D.C., Thursday, urging the nation to pressure Hamas to release the bodies of two Israelis who were killed three years ago.
