As people across the United States continue to react to the senseless tragedy in Las Vegas Sunday night, country music legend Charlie Daniels is calling for unity among all Americans.

The 80-year-old country artist reacted to the shooting, which left at least 50 people dead and hundreds injured, with a prayer on Monday morning before calling for unity in respect of those affected. (RELATED: Charlie Daniels Compares Tearing Down Statues To ‘What ISIS Is Doing’)

“Merciful Father we cry out to You for those who were hurt in Las Vegas,” Daniels wrote. “Bring down this evil Lord, bring it down.”

“Can for today we put aside ethnicities, political-social differences just be Americans united in respect for those slaughtered in Las Vegas,” he added.

Daniels also quoted some scripture from the bible while he continued to react to the senseless shooting.

A gunman opened fire on the crowd at the Route 91 Harvest music festival from a Mandalay Bay hotel room on Sunday night, firing off hundreds of rounds with an automatic weapon. At least 50 people of the 22,000 strong crowd were killed during the attack. Over 400 were injured and have been hospitalized due to their injuries.
