Bill O’Reilly stated in a column Monday that new laws won’t be able to stop “psychopaths” from committing heinous acts.

O’Reilly wrote, “Once again, the big downside of American freedom is on gruesome display.  A psychotic gunman in Las Vegas has committed the worst mass murder in U. S. history.”

He added, “…having covered scores of gun-related crimes over the years, I can tell you that government restrictions will not stop psychopaths from harming people. They will find a way. Public safety demands logical gun laws but the issue is so polarizing and emotional that little will be accomplished as there is no common ground.”

O’Reilly has recently been making something of a comeback in the media, emerging months after he was booted from Fox News Channel over sexual harassment accusations to promote his new book, “Killing England.”

The former FNC host returned to his old network last week to give an interview with Sean Hannity, during which he said that the left doesn’t want “capitalism. They don’t want the electoral college. They don’t want white people…generally calling the shots. So they have to mobilize minority Americans to be angry.” (RELATED: Bill O’Reilly Stuns On Hannity: Leftists Don’t Want White People ‘Calling The Shots’)
