Dr. Michael Welner, a forensic psychiatrist said on “Fox and Friends” this morning that he believes CNN’s demonization of gun owners contributes to mass shootings.

Welner said, “I think that CNN’s gonna have to answer for how they demonize gun enthusiasts and how CNN actually contributes to mass shootings. And I believe that they do. But that’s a side issue.”

Fox host Brian Kilmeade later clarified after the segment that Welner’s comments aren’t necessarily representative of Fox, saying, “That’s his point of view, that is not our point of view.”

Many on the left have been using the tragedy to attack the National Rifle Association. Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton tweeted, “We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again.” (RELATED: All-Out War Against The NRA Begins After Las Vegas Massacre)
