CNN’s Chris Cuomo had a meltdown on live television when OMB director Mick Mulvaney said that CNN is spreading misinformation about the crisis in Puerto Rico.

Cuomo asked Mulvaney to respond to President Trump’s criticism of the media for how they’ve covered the administration’s work in Puerto Rico. Mulvaney argued that networks like CNN have chosen only to show the “bad stuff” and haven’t shown the good things the administration has been doing.

The implication that CNN had only been in Puerto Rico to make the president look bad set off Cuomo, and in the process of defending his network, also attacked the administration’s response again.

“That’s not what you do in a situation like this!” Cuomo said. “You report the reality! That’s not being done to you, to the president, Mick, to embarrass you… Whatever’s being done is not enough and if you don’t know that now you’re never gonna know it.”

“Well the good news is you’re clearly going to do a better job going forward and we appreciate that,” Mulvaney shot back.

“When you say some of this reporting is fake… It’s disingenuous and it’s not true,” Cuomo asserted. “Don’t call it fake because it’s not fake. Everybody gets that it’s going to take time… but you know what else people get? You could have had more people there.”
