Female writers for Jimmy Fallon and singer Miley Cyrus wrote thank you notes to Hillary Clinton on Fallon’s show Wednesday night.

Clinton was a guest on the show, so the writers and Cyrus took turns reading thank you notes they had written and gave them to her on air.
“Thank you, Hillary Clinton, for being the first female presidential candidate nominated by a major party, and also the first female senator of New York, and also the first First Lady to transcend First Ladyhood to become secretary of state,” one of Fallon’s writers said. “I guess what I’m trying to say is, thank you Hillary Clinton.”
“Oh thank you! That’s so nice!” Clinton fawned as she accepted the note.
“Thank you for showing everyone that politics isn’t a popularity contest because, if it were, you would have won by about three million votes,” another Fallon writer said, causing Clinton to burst into laughter.
Miley Cyrus cried when she read her note and gave Clinton a hug.
