President Donald Trump dismissed another NBC story Wednesday, declaring that the media outlet is as fake as CNN.

NBC reported that the president demanded a tenfold increase in the size of the nuclear arsenal during a meeting with high-ranking national security advisers this past summer. His request reportedly prompted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to call him a “moron.”

NBC recently claimed that tensions between Trump and Tillerson reached a boiling point this summer, causing Vice President Mike Pence to intervene to keep the secretary of state from resigning.

Tillerson addressed the report at an unplanned press conference, asserting that he serves at the pleasure of the president and has never once considered tendering his resignation. Trump repeatedly attacked NBC, and other liberal outlets, as fake news.

Trump, Tillerson, and even Secretary of Defense James Mattis have all stated that the media has a tendency to try to create the appearance of chaos within the administration, even when none exists.
