CNN commentators Ana Navarro and Ben Ferguson went head-to-head Thursday over President Donald Trump and the NFL, and things quickly spun out of control once racial issues were mentioned.

“New Day” co-anchor Alisyn Camerota first asked Ferguson if he saw the NFL protests as a free speech issue. “I don’t see it as a freedom of speech issue,” Ferguson responded. “I think you have the right to do it, I think there are consequences for your actions. The same thing you teach children when you’re young.”

Navarro jumped in after Ferguson called the NFL players frauds for not voting and asked if former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had ever been to a Black Lives Matter Rally.

“How white of you to think that going to a Black Lives Matter rally…no no no, who are you to tell a black person what makes them black?” Navarro said. “Look at yourself in the mirror.”

Ferguson called Navarro’s comparison “insane” as they continued to talk over one another.

“It has nothing to do with blackness,’ Ferguson said. “If you go out there every day and you fight for something that you say is so dear and near to your heart, and then I find out in reality you were never involved in the issue outside of being on national TV, you’re a fraud! You’re a fraud and a fake.”

“It has nothing to do with being black or white,” Ferguson concluded. “It’s called being a hypocrite. Colin Kaepernick is a hypocrite.”
