CBS might have a massive hit on its hands with the show “SEAL Team.”

The show is now three episodes into its first season, and it has only exceeded expectations so far. I was cautiously optimistic when I first heard about the show.

Military shows and movies can both be great if done correctly. They also run the risk of being absolutely terrible if only a few mistakes are made along the way. It’s a fine line that Hollywood has struggled tiptoeing for years.

I think it’s now safe to say “SEAL Team” has found a winning formula. The actions scenes are incredible, but the most impressive part of the show doesn’t occur in the firefights and battle scenes.

The best part is when they dig into the lives of the SEAL team members. I’ve had the opportunity to interview and meet a handful of guys who have been part of elite units. They almost all have one things in common, and it’s that they’re just regular dudes who like to bro out with the guys. They’re not these machines portrayed in the media 24/7.

I’m not sure there’s ever been a show that does a better job of depicting how these elite military members have personal lives, love joking around, and are kind of nerdy. It humanizes them for the audience.

You should absolutely be watching “SEAL Team,” if you’re not already.
