It’s Disgraceful That Wisconsin Football Allowed A Convicted Woman Beater On Campus

Convicted woman beater and former Wisconsin Badgers football star Montee Ball was in Madison on Saturday, and it’s embarrassing for the university.

Ball was a standout running back and Heisman finalist for the Badgers during his time in college. He was also accused and convicted of several charges that stemmed from domestic violence allegations. That should be enough to keep a guy away from a college program forever. I don’t care how good of a football player they were.

Well, that’s not what my Wisconsin Badgers did. Ball was in Madison Saturday at the game as part of a series honoring former players.

This is an embarrassing and disgusting action on the behalf of the university that my family has paid a lot of money to. Look, I understand athletes who get into bar fights, get arrested for drugs, get popped on a DUI and a variety of other charges. Those are mistakes that I’m more than willing to accept the idea that the athlete can learn from his actions and overcome.

What I’m not willing to overlook is letting a convicted criminal on campus for a football game. I have sisters and a mother that I would jump on an explosive device for if it meant their lives would be saved. I think just about every father, brother and son in America would agree with my stance. We should be protecting the women in our lives at all costs.

When did we get to the point where you can be convicted of beating a woman, but it’s not a big deal as long as you can run the football in college?

I’ve grown up around the Wisconsin Badgers, I went to Wisconsin, my father went to Wisconsin and I will continue to cheer for the Badgers. Letting a man who is abusive towards women on campus is still unacceptable.

It’s a very sad day to be from the greatest state in America.
