The Cleveland Browns were apparently extremely close to drafting Deshaun Watson in the 2017 NFL draft, and that’s got to sting for fans of the organization.
It was revealed during the Cleveland’s game Sunday against the Houston Texans that Browns coach Hue Jackson had texted Watson the day of the draft, and told him to “be ready.”
The Browns ultimately traded away the pick to the Texans, and the rest is history.

That is the last thing in the world Browns fans want to hear. The organization hasn’t been able to find a quarterback for the better part of the past two decades, and now fans know they were so close to getting Watson.
The national championship winner at Clemson has set the league on fire through the first six games of his career. The Browns are winless through the same time period. I bet the organization sure wishes they had that pick back.
