Colin Kaepernick didn’t get an invite to the NFL’s national anthem protests meeting Tuesday between owners and players.
Athletes in the league and the owners behind the multi-billion dollar brand met to discuss a variety of different social issues and the national anthem.
Geragos & Geragos, the lawyers who represent Kaepernick, released a statement Tuesday afternoon about how some players wanted him in the meetings, and that the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback would be open to participating in the future.

Why would Kaepernick be invited to a meeting between players and owners? I think the concept behind the meetings was for current players, which Kaepernick most certainly is not, to air their grievances with the league.
Why would an unemployed quarterback’s presence be necessary at a meeting for players and owners? Doesn’t seem like it adds up. Now, his presence would be perfectly reasonable if they were looking for advice on how to successfully get the NFL’s fanbase to turn against somebody.
The NFL made the right choice by not having him there. It would only have been a further distraction.
