Twitter users mocked CNN for a new advertisement campaign, where the Atlanta-based news network insisted it is a “facts first” outlet with an awkward fruit metaphor.

In the new ad, CNN showed a photo of an apple and insisted that even though people might try to convince you that it is a banana, it is still an apple.

“This is an apple,” the video voiceover begins with soft piano music in the background. “Some people might try to tell you it’s a banana. They might scream ‘banana banana banana’ over and over and over again… You might even start to believe that this is a banana.”

“But it’s not,” CNN confirms. “This is an apple.”

The video ends with the text “Facts First.”
