A video was released last week that showed two Clemson football players in a locker room MMA-style fighting match, and head coach Dabo Swinney was not pleased.

The national championship-winning coach addressed the situation with the media Tuesday in a fashion only he could.

“You got a mat on the ground, sometimes boys especially, will start wrestling and goofing off,” Swinney said. “It’s been going on forever. … Just somebody had a video of it, put it out and it was brought to my attention, obviously.”

“You are not six. You are not 10 years old” he said later. “You are not eight. We’re grown men, so what happens? The couch breaks. This is not a frat house. This is not a romper room. That is kind of how I told them. This is a new house and it is really nice. That locker room is not a romper room. This ain’t kindergarten.”

It’s worth noting that the video is also apparently old, although it’s unclear when it was filmed.

His comments are classic Swinney. He could just have simply said it was stupid and won’t happen again. We all know that’s not how the legendary Clemson coach handles his business. Instead, the former Alabama football player launched into a massive explanation about buying houses, romper rooms, buying new furniture and having the boys over to wrestle.

I’ll be a Big Ten guy until the day I die, but I have to admit the fact I’m also very pro-Swinney. He’s a football guy through and through.
