This week’s “Alternative Facts” discussed Morning Joe’s reaction to news longtime contributor Mark Halperin has been accused of sexual harassment by former female subordinates at ABC News.
Mika Brzezinski, the “Morning Joe” cohost, appeared to soft-peddle the allegations during Thursday’s broadcast, telling viewers the allegations against Halperin were advanced by “unnamed sources” and concern conduct that took place ” over a decade ago.” She also characterized Halperin, who appears on “Morning Joe” multiple times per week, as a “friend” of the program.

Alt Facts also discussed a fact-check which appeared in The Washington Post Tuesday. The piece awarded Virginia GOP gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie “two pinnochios” for claiming more than 2,000 MS-13 gang-members are active in Fairfax County, Virginia, nearing Washington D.C. The Post concluded Gillespie’s claim was dishonest, because there are merely 1,400 MS-13 loyalists in Fairfax County.
