MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski may be easily disgusted by President Trump envisioning blood coming out of her chin or Trump telling then-Access Hollywood host Billy Bush that he can do anything he wants with women — lik “grab ’em by the p–y” — because he’s just so rich and powerful.

But the show’s “friend” Mark Halperin?

Hmmm. He’s a different animal.

Mika softened her voice and sympathetically called him “someone you see around this table very day” and referred to him as “our friend.” She announced that CNN broke the story but didn’t say that five women had claimed that he sexually harassed them and that one of those women had accused him of sexual assault. She said “unnamed sources” claimed “unwanted advances.” She said “we will be following this story.”

Her tone and wording was especially jarring considering that Mika champions herself a major defender of women’s rights in the workplace with her “Know Your Value” campaign.

Halperin has resigned from NBC amid allegations that he harassed a number of women while working at ABC more than a decade ago. Some of it was kind of normal asking women “upstairs” sort of thing. Other alleged details were a little more bizarre — grabbing breasts, brushing up against female coworkers with erections. In other words, not Pervy Harvey Weinstein level of ejaculate in a potted plant seediness, but not exactly the stuff of harmless water-cooler conversations.

Halperin, who has a son with his longtime girlfriend Karen Avrich, has apologized and declared that he’s taking a step back from his day-to-day work. He posted a video of the infant, James Paul “Buster” Halperin, on Instagram back in January, 2017.

Mika assured viewers she’s “sure” they’ll be talking about it again.
