Out of the box, I had a reading in under 30 seconds (it was normal, thankfully). The blood pressure machine is made of heavy duty, high-quality plastic. It takes four AA batteries (not included in this purchase). It measures systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as a pulse (heart rate) reading. It has an LCD screen with very large, easy-to-read numbers. It stores previous blood pressure readings for up to two people (great for both my husband and I!), and the cuff is easily adjustable for a small or large arm. The cuff is also inscribed with a diagram for correct placement on your arm. This is great for quick reference on exactly where to place the cuff for a correct and accurate blood pressure reading!
