According to one report, embattled Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein believes there’s a higher purpose for the growing sex scandal that has engulfed his life. Entertainment snoop Page Six quotes an unnamed source that claims Weinstein is insisting that he’s been chosen to “change the world.”

One “Hollywood insider” reportedly says that “Harvey believes he is a savior.”

The source says that Weinstein has become philosophical about his predicament as women come forth every week to tell stories about his alleged penchant for sexually assaulting and harassing actresses; the has-been mogul has reportedly been assuring his friends “that she was born to take the fall for his behavior in order to ‘change the world.’ He is resigned to his punishment — as a martyr for social change.”

But Weinstein is not confirming his alleged mission for global transformation, with one spokesman telling Page Six: “That’s absurd.”

Despite more than 80 women now leveling charges of varying degrees of sexual misconduct against Weinstein, the former top Hollywood executive continues to issue the following disclaimer: “any allegations of nonconsensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein.”

On Monday, an additional four women came forward with accusations that Weinstein had committed sexual assault against them.
