Jon Gruden’s odds of coaching the Tennessee Volunteers continued to rise in the latest odds released.

Gruden had been at +250, but he’s now at +200. That means a bettor will earn $2 for every $1 wagered on the current ESPN analyst becoming the next Volunteers football coach.

Chip Kelly, Jeff Brohm and Bobby Petrino following behind him as the next most likely coaches to take over.

People who thought this was a bad joke, myself included, are looking pretty stupid right now. Gruden initially opened at +2,000 when odds were released for Butch Jones’ replacement, who hasn’t even been fired yet. It seemed like a quick way for the bookies to make some quick cash. Odds that hover around in the thousands are pretty much guaranteed to never happen.

Odds that sit in the low hundreds aren’t a sure thing, but they’re far from unlikely. Gruden in Knoxville will be a show for the ages, and I hope it all comes to fruition.
