Conor McGregor is up for a rematch in the boxing ring with Floyd Mayweather, and the Irish fighter is already predicting he would win if it happens.

“If I had a rematch, I would correct and I would beat him,” McGregor said confidently in an interview with BBC Sport released on Wednesday.

“He’s retired, I’m not going to start calling him out out of retirement. I’m gonna leave him to it. If it happens, maybe it will, who knows? I would beat him, no doubt,” McGregor said.

While McGregor respects the legendary boxer for going 50-0 in the ring, he said he’s not bitter about being the 50th win on Mayweather’s record and made it clear he’s open to a rematch if Mayweather is.

As for now though, McGregor is getting back in the Octagon.

“The next one will be a UFC bout, will be a mixed martial arts bout, one hundred percent. I will defend my lightweight belt. And then boxing is certainly an interesting one, no doubt.”

If Mayweather ever stops counting his money, it’s his turn to make a move.
