The Indianapolis Colts have placed quarterback Andrew Luck on injured reserve, and have shut him down for the rest of the season.

The news broke Thursday afternoon that the Colts were making sure he wouldn’t play again this season due to his injured shoulder.

Luck has missed 26 games since 2015, and his future in the NFL is starting to look bleak.

Nobody knows if Luck is going to ever bounce back, but it’s never a great sign when a player misses 26 games since 2015. That’s a sign things are not headed in the right direction from a health standpoint.

It’s a shame because Luck is an incredible talent, and has been a joy to watch ever since his tears at Stanford. Hopefully he’s able to return to his former self on the field, but at this point I really wouldn’t be holding your breath.
