A single picture floating around the internet shows how the Houston Astros winning the World Series brought a little bit of joy to its ravaged fanbase.

Houston got hammered by Hurricane Harvey, and lots of people lost their homes. However, you wouldn’t know how badly these people had been beaten down, judging from a photo tweeted by ESPN’s Darren Rovell.

Two unnamed individuals watched from the interior of their gutted Houston house as the Astros pulled of a game seven victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This is just another example of why we love sports so much. Two people sit in a home destroyed by Hurricane Harvey, but they’re all smiles as the Astros clinch a victory. Sports is a great distraction in the worst of times. They give people something to cheer for, surround themselves by and escape to for a few hours. This photo is the epitome of that mindset played out in reality.
