This week’s “Alternative Facts” notes the hilarity in media questioning of why President Donald Trump did not suggest the death penalty for Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, gave a much needed reality check as to George Papadopoulos’s true role in the Trump 2016 campaign, and CNN showing up months late to some crucial Russia news.

The segment begins with Wall Street Journal reporter Eli Stokols questioning Trump’s motives in seeking the death penalty against NYC attacker Sayfullo Saipov and not Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock. Stokol’s appears to have forgotten that Paddock killed himself in the course of the shooting.
“Alternative Facts” then examined former Trump foreign policy aide George Papadopolous’s alleged collusion with Russian government officials. Papadopoulos was charged by special counsel Robert Mueller for lying to FBI investigators and allegedly attempted to arrange meetings between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the campaign.
Finally, the program took aim at CNN for reporting months later an exclusive story by The Daily Caller describing how Attorney General Jeff Sessions rebuffed Papadopoulos’s efforts to arrange any meeting between Trump and Putin.
