Three students were injured in a deliberate car attack Friday in the French city of Toulouse.

The attack took place in the suburb of Blagnac outside a college campus. The victims were reportedly of Chinese origin and two are in serious condition.

Newspaper Le Figaro reports that a man born in 1989 was arrested at the scene. The newspaper cited a source close to the investigation, saying he is of “Asian origin.” No motive has been established.

Terrorists have used vehicles as weapons since the mid-2000s. The method became increasingly common after the July 14, 2016 attack in Nice, that killed 84 people. Similar events in major European cities such as London, Berlin, Barcelona and Stockholm have since taken place. Most recently, eight people were killed in a vehicle attack Oct. 31 in New York City.
