There are a multitude of technical problems with iOS 11, one of Apple’s latest software versions, including typing glitches and just overall poor performance, according to reviews from many users and Gizmodo.
One of the most prevalent glitches seems to be when users try to type on their iPhones, whether it’s for text messaging or general browsing. An attempt to write the letter “I” for example automatically suggests or inputs the letter “A” along with another Webdings-esque character.

Due to other dilemmas internal to the phone, Apple’s been forced to create multiple updates, including the iOS 11.0.1, which was an auxiliary update created to patch an email issue. (RELATED: Apple Isn’t Produce iPhone Xs Fast Enough So They Are Downgrading Features, Says Report)
Some users have been saying the Calculator app occasionally delivers incorrect answers because it reportedly can’t keep up with operational demands.
There are also less specific complaints like discussions of poor battery life, which seems to be a perennial issue for every software update, even though one would expect it to gradually improve. A number of reports have also said iOS 11 is triggering apps to freeze and crash when users try to access and use them, and it causes the mobile devices to operate in a sluggish manner in general, according to Gizmodo.
The Daily Caller News Foundation has reported on a handful of issues with Apple’s technology beyond the operating system. Apple admitted in September that its newly-introduced smartwatch was struggling with cellular connectivity capabilities — which was the prime selling point — days before the device became available for purchase. The tech company says it was working to solve the technical problem. And some iPhone 8’s were emitting a crackling and static noise when connected to an earpiece. Apple also confirmed that a fix is imminent.
People talked over their troubles with that particular smartphone on MacRumors, a popular Apple-focused blog, as well as Reddit and Apple’s official discussion board.
“It’s intermittent – on some calls you can perfectly notice it on others no problem,” reads an Apple user’s comment on an the discussion board. “I have already tried resetting the phone with no success on solving the problem. I’m dealing with the issue since Friday. Very disappointed! Does anyone has the same problem or knows how to fix it?” (RELATED: Researchers Give iPhone X The Worst-Ever Score For Durability)
“Same problem here with me in the UK. Update 11.0.1 made no difference either. Gonna give it till Saturday if not fixed it’s going back,” one user wrote.
“Cracklinggate?” another asked.
