Anne Wojcicki, the founder of 23AndMe and A-Rod’s ex-girlfriend, is an unstoppable force.

In a recent feature for the New York Times, Anne and her mom Esther recounted the major ups and downs life has handed them. Most recently, Anne went through a messy, public divorce with Google co-founder Sergey Brin, then began dating A-Rod.

Like the rest of us, her mom still can’t seem to get over it.

“When I started dating Alex, my mom was like, ‘What’s an A-Rod?’ I was like, ‘Mom, that’s his name,'” Anne told the New York Times. And while Anne seems to be past the whole A-Rod thing, her mom still can’t get over his IQ.

She tells the New York Times, “He seemed to be genuinely in love with Anne. But I right away figured out this was a mismatch. He had no academic background. We couldn’t have an intellectual conversation about anything. His main interest in life was something that none of us had ever focused on, which was baseball. He could park himself in front of a TV and watch baseball for 10 hours a day. He wasn’t even sure he wanted to go on the yacht with Anne because the TV might not be working.”

And her last line is an absolute zinger. She concludes her thoughts on A-Rod with, “I wish J-Lo all the luck in the world.”

L-O-L.

I didn’t like this couple and I never will. I’m a simple person. I like when things make sense. The sky is blue. Beer is cold. Fire is hot. Athletes date models.

What was A-Rod thinking dating some biotech startup girl? This chick went to Yale and purposefully got married in a swimming pool so she wouldn’t have to do hair and makeup. She’s not about the glitz and glamour. She’s actively trying to avoid it.

Take one look at this couple and tell me if they’re good together:

They’re not. And listen. I’m not trying to be mean. I’m sure Anne is a very nice lady. But what on earth was she doing dating a baseball player? Her mom even said it — nobody in her family cared about the sport. Were they expecting baseball players to be geniuses and athletes?

Life makes a whole lot more sense when startup girls are dating Google execs and A-Rod is dating JLo. I rest my case.
