President Donald Trump continued airing his frustration with press coverage Monday and called for a contest to determine which outlet produces the most “fake news.”
“We should have a contest as to which of the Networks, plus CNN and not including Fox, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me),” Trump tweeted. “They are all bad. Winner to receive the FAKE NEWS TROPHY!”
A knowledgeable source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, has told The Daily Caller that Trump is an avid viewer of cable news. Trump once denied in a tweet that he has enough free time to watch TV.
CNBC reporter Christina Wilkie pointed out Monday, “The president did not have a daily intelligence briefing on his schedule this morning, leaving him with plenty of time to watch TV.”
Shortly after proposing the fake news competition, Trump took aim at MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
“The good news is that their ratings are terrible, nobody cares!” Trump tweeted, highlighting an article saying the show passed off a pre-taped episode as live.
