The royal family has announced the wedding plans for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just a day after the couple announced their engagement to the world.
The family released the announcement from Kensington Palace on Tuesday, revealing when and where the Prince of Wales and the American actress will be married. Unlike his older brother, Prince William, Harry will be married at Windsor Castle rather than Westminster Abbey.
“The marriage of his Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will take place at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle in May, 2018,” the announcement said.

Prince Harry was christened at St. George’s, which makes him eligible to be married there as well, according to The Guardian. (RELATED: Meghan Markle Is Giving Up Acting For Her Role In The Royal Family)
The announcement also stated that Her Majesty The Queen granted them permission to be married at the historic chapel and announced that the royal family would be paying for the wedding.
Prince Harry and the 36-year-old actress got engaged earlier this month, but didn’t make the official announcement until Monday. Markle will have to become a British citizen and be both baptized and confirmed in the Church of England before the wedding in the coming spring. She will also be giving up acting to step into her role in the royal family.
