President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday that he doesn’t see himself making a deal with Democrats ahead of negotiations on a year-end spending bill.

“Meeting with ‘Chuck and Nancy’ today about keeping government open and working. Problem is they want illegal immigrants flooding into our Country unchecked, are weak on Crime and want to substantially RAISE Taxes,” Trump wrote. “I don’t see a deal!”

The federal government will run out of funding on Dec. 8. Trump is meeting Tuesday with congressional leaders Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to try to hash out a spending agreement.

The White House is reportedly pushing for increased military funding, while Democrats and liberal activists continue wanting protections for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival beneficiaries.

The Wall Street Journal reported in early November that Senate Republicans would rather push any sort of amnesty deal into 2018.

“Look, we hope that the Democrats aren’t going to put our service-members abroad at risk by trying to hold the government hostage over partisan politics,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Monday about the liberal push to include amnesty in a year-end spending deal.
