Matt Lauer allegedly sexted an intern, according to a report published Wednesday.

Lauer, a former host on NBC’s “Today”, allegedly sexted staffers, including a young intern, reported Page Six. The woman who allegedly first came forward was a former intern and now a junior production worker who had explicit texts from Lauer saved on her phone.

The texts, said to be from the time of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games “showed incontrovertible proof of inappropriate sexual behavior on his part,” sources told Page Six.

“I think everyone was a bit surprised how quickly this all turned around. No one expected his termination to happen that quickly. I believe the silver bullet was the photo and that was so damning that they had no other option but to fire him,” said the source.

Due to the evidence from the alleged victim who remains unnamed, NBC chairman Andy Lack fired Lauer late Tuesday.

The former NBC host was “very apologetic” about the alleged incident.
